According to AF's online schedule from the start of the winter schedule, the airline will make some changes on their flights to the Middle East.

Jeddah (JED):

At the moment AF serves JED with 3x weekly A332 flights via the Egyptian capital, Cairo, (AF524/521), but from 30/10/06 AF will replace this service with 3x weekly non-stop A319 flights using Air France Dedicate aircraft.

New schedule:

CDG-JED AF520 1-3--6- 10:50/18:40 5hr50min 0 A319
JED-CDG AF517 -2-4--7 01:10/05:45 6hr35min 0 A319

Riyadh (RUH):

Flights to Riyadh (also served with Air France Dedicate A319 aircraft) will go down from daily to 6x weekly flights this winter.

RUH-CDG AF509 12-4567 01:20/06:15 6hr55min 0 A319

Cairo (CAI):

Frequency to Cairo remains unchanged however capacity offered increases as the current 3x weekly CDG-CAI-JED-CAI-CDG becomes a terminator service (i.e. CDG-CAI-CDG) and larger aircraft are deployed on the daily AF508/503. This will give AF a total of 10x weekly terminator flights to Cairo using widebodies (5 with A332, 3 with B772 and 2 with A343s).

New Schedule:

Dubai (DXB):

surprised to see a reduction in frequencies,. BEY use to be their most profitable route in the middle east until 14 days ago...

Next destinations, Suarabaya, beirut, paris, Accra

I guess the frequency reductions are seasonal changes. And regarding BEY, if indeed it is AF's most profitable Middle Eastern destination, then once things go back to normal it will hopefully retain it's pole position.

I was not surprised to see this change , few months ago , friends of mine took this CDG-CAI-JED flight and told me that the vast majority of passengers de-boarded in CAI .
AF didn't have rights between CAI and JED . But i am surprised to see Riyadh getting more weekly flights ( double ) than Jeddah .
