Just heard that PK is starting, non stop from ISB, LHE, and KHI to ohare 3 times weekly non stop. Lets just hope that this starts soon. I think this rumor is going to be quite true, because of how they have one LR just doing normal routes, and that they have gotten permission from the FAA- i think

Have u guys heard anything about this?

Fiaz

YES!!! No, I haven't heard anything about this, but I believe they did get permission from the FAA. I really hope this starts sooner than later. But hey, just for the record, what was your source? Regardless, great news!

I thought it was for security that USA didnt allow non-stops, so the 'LR was used on non-stop to Canada instead. Does this mean the security issues are all ok now?

I can't wait to see the 777-200LR at ORD in PK colors!

Does anyone know if any of the other airlines that ordered the LR is planning on service to ORD? e.g. Air India, Emirates, Eva Air?

well, AI already serves ORD via the 744, but not sure if they will ever use the LR here... Emirates has been contemplating ORD for a while now, they are thinking they will enter the ORD market in 4 years or so...Eva no clue...but Eva Air Cargo operates into ORD (i know, off topic)

exactly, and besides, I'm kind of enjoying the 744 from AI, gives a better variety to T5. But back on topic, is this nonstop PK route(s) to ORD definite, and if so, when would this start, because I always thought PK would have done nonstop LHI/ISB/LHE-JFK well before LHI/ISB/LHE-ORD. But once again, I'm not complaining...since PK is my favorite bird! : D

Well as much as I disapproved of the stance that the US authorities took with regards allowing PK direct flights, I'm will be sorry to see these birds miss out MAN. Sometimes on a Saturday morning we saw 3 B777's and 1 B747 operated by PK in just 2 or 3 hours.

You are all talking like this is a sure thing. Has there been a press release? Is the PK schedule updated to show a non-stop? Has the US Dept. of Homeland Security changed their minds about requiring a stopover in MAN? If someone has a link to some new info about this route, please provide it. While I would love to see PK 777LR metal here, I can't get too excited until there's some proof.

PS - Doing a quick search on the PK website timetable, I found the 772ER still flying this route through MAN through Nov. '06.

Agree to both of you. It seems we are going to lose KLM 747 service, we can't afford to lose anymore 747's.

that being said, a KL 777-200ER at ORD would be very, very nice also... biggrin

that is one 747 service I won't be too sad to see go...as stupid as this sounds, the KL 772's are absolutely stunning, gorgeous aircraft, I'm very excited to see this at ORD sometime soon.

But back on topic, is this nonstop Pakistan-ORD route a definite thing..and if so...when?

any info will be appreciated.

The AI flights from ORD all terminate in BOM and not DEL....BOM is the home base for AI....however, there are 1 or 2 flights which go via DEL, both ways....
