What are the possibilities to watch AF or LH bringing the 380 to MEX?

Thanks for any input!

Cheers,

I am sure there is a good chance. Supposedly, the new Terminal 2 will have one or two gates that can receive an A380. In addition, both AF and LH have somehow in the past hinted that MEX could be an A380 destination. The issue here is that it is unclear (at least to me) whether additional work on the runways and taxiways needs to be done. According to an article I read several months ago, MEX' runways and taxiways were not wide enough for the A380, but posts here in a.net dismissed that information and mentioned that MEX, as of now, is A380-enabled at least in terms of landings and take-offs. If we are lucky enough to have as a fellow a.net member someone who works for Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares or something, maybe he can shed some light.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).
