SIA Is Fortune's 'most Admired' Airline.

Singapore Airlines has emerged as the number one airline in Fortune magazine's ranking of the most admired companies in the world.

More remarkably, SIA did not even make it to Fortune's list last year.

But this year, it dethroned America's Southwest Airlines which dropped to second place.

They were followed by Continental in third spot, Lufthansa in fourth and United Airlines in fifth.

For the third straight year, General Electric was overall Number One on Fortune's list of the most admired companies in the world.


Wow, that makes three STAR carriers in the top five of the "most admired" list.

Kudos to SQ!! But I am not so sure if it means anything to SQ as they have already won so many awards!!

Maybe it does, on second thoughts, as it is an award not based on their service, but being the number one admired airline in the world is indeed something.

So, what is about them that the folks at Fortune admire?
