Hi all,

my friend noticed a Virgin Express 737 with winglets in MCO early this morning (July 26). Anybody know why they would be in MCO? Charter or something else?

CO must have been doing work for them as they have two mx hangars there.

Probably coming back from having those winglets fitted at AP.

I would've guessed Continental as well except for the fact that the aircraft was on the Signature FBO ramp.

LiveTV aircraft wouldn't be parked at the Signature FBO. We have our own facility on the northeast side of the airport grounds.

HA! I was just about to make a post about it. Here was my originally planned post:

What facility is located at 18L? Yesterday I noticed a Virgin Blue (Australian) 737 with winglets outside that facility. It was finally parked in a different position once our plane started moving but I think they were moving it into that hangar. Do they paint there? Do they do something with winglets there? Regardless, it was realllly cool to see an Australian airline at MCO.

So it turns out it was Virgin Blue and not Virgin Express. Either way it's sweet. I have a picture of it I took yesterday when I was at MCO:

The winglets on the Virgin Express B733 fleet are fitted by Sabena Technics in Brussels and the second plane will be fitted with the winglets end of this year - not before.

Airline aircraft occationally seen there I think are only on fuel stops.

Continental rarely -if ever- do any work for other airlines in those hangars.

No wonder I saw a WestJet plane some months ago in that hangar

Continental thanks for the info and pic. are you a member of the MCO spotters group?

If it is parked at the LiveTv hanger like the pic shows, then they are most likely getting outfitted with TV or radio.

No problem. I wish I were a part of the MCO spotters group, but I live in MSP for the next few years. Add me to the list soon, I'll be moving down there in just a few more years!  Smile

well there's a yahoo group.. but for example no one said anything about this Virgin 737. I would've never known if I hadn't seen this thread.. Last week there was a Royal Maroc 757 and those who saw it didn't say anything.. well at least there's a.net  Smile
