Hi guys,

I'm looking for fares for a possible trip to EWR from IAH. CO offers one flight operated by a 767-200 which apparentely has business first. In Continental.com it says that Elite members (I am) enjoy complimentary upgrades for flights inside the US, Canada, Central-South America & the Caribbean but they also say that flights with BusinessFirst cabin will require that you pay with miles for the upgrade.

My question is... will I have to use my miles to get upgraded or will I enjoy the usual complimentary upgrade?

Saludos desde Caracas,
Luis

On domestic, non-Hawai'i flights, the BF cabin is marketed as regular domestic F, so you should be able to get the free upgrade.

If it's within the lower 48, then it's eligible for the free upgrade. It might be tough to get...I've heard stories of the BusinessFirst flights being popular with full fare F passengers and Platinums, so I've heard it's a tough route to get an upgrade on.

Be careful on this flight. A lot of other elites are as plane-savvy as yourself and recognize the chance to ride B/F on that trip as opposed to domestic first on a 737. It is hard and I mean HARD to get an elite upgrade on those flights, even with the large B/F cabin that the 762 provides. If you are platinum that will definitely help your chances, but those 762 flights go out full in front 99.9% of the time, as do most EWR-IAH and return flights. Good luck!
