I started playing around today on www.dot.gov and found where you can find out things like, on time and other stats.

http://www.transtats.bts.gov/OT_Delay/OT_DelayCause1.asp?pn=1me, ect.

Since so many seem to have a favorite airline. I figure why not get the accurate statistics. If you go to "on time" you even get a pie of why the flights were delayed. Some airlines are not as bad as some on this board may have you believe. Anyhow, proof is in the pudding. I hope you enjoy this link and the facts about your favorite or least favorite carrier.

Samples for May On time.

CO 74.10%
DL 82.15%
F9 83.95% (Mariner are you listening ! )
B6 81.66%
NW 82.81%
UA 74.33%

Here is a link for some July Results. jetBlue ranks as one of the worst in on time performance. Hawaiian ranks Number 1 in July.

Thanks for the link! There's also somewhere on the DOT website that lists all statistics from flights (i.e. aircraft type, registration, flight time, taxi time, delay, etc.). It's really handy for people curious about which aircraft they flew on, but I don't know where to find it. Do any of you know where it is?

Same basic link on transtats.bts.gov. Click on aviation under the mode column then Airline Origin and Destination Survey (DB1B). You can set the parameters to search and it will download it into a zip file. When unzipped it is in .csv format, which can be read by Excel.
