Does sitting on a plane for 15 consecutive hours sound like your own version of hell? Did we mention that your seats for the 15-hour non-stop flight are in coach class?
For those of you who are curious but don't have the patience for such a flight, we sent USATODAY.com air travel reporter Ben Mutzabaugh to give you a first-hand recap on a 15-hour non-stop flight from Chicago to New Delhi.
Ben's total trip – including his connecting flight from Washington, D.C., — spanned 22 hours, three continents, nearly 7,500 miles and the airspace of at least 14 countries.

It's true, long flights don't seem that long. I think it's cos each hour is the same as the one before it. For the first part of the flight, you're kind of amazed by the scale of what lies ahead - I'm going to be in this seat for another thirteen hours! Before you know it, you're under the ten hour mark, then it's just seven to go, an easy Heathrow / Kennedy, then five, four, at which point you're basically home free. I do a lot of long haul, eleven hours to Narita, twelve hours to Singapore, all in economy, and it's basically a meal at either end (which takes a couple of hours each), with a couple of movies in between. I often end up wishing they were longer. Gotta try SQ's Newark-Singapore, that's the one to beat.
Yes! Senator Obama. We are ready to believe again.

Not a useful trip report if he never once reflects on the entertainment options available or tries to use them to pass the time. Actually, for all the words he types, there's little information or anything really interesting. Pretty lame journalist, IMHO. He also doesn't comment on any of the "smells" on board but likely doesn't want to offend anyone and get fired...
Thanks for the link though.

That pretty much sums up my 14 hour and 21 minute flight from LAX to HKG. Except we followed the sun all the way across the Pacific and watched it finally set as we were landing in HKG.
I'm leavin on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again....
