I just got home from work and heard a strange buzzing sound coming from outside. Like all good enthusiasts I ran outside and saw an airship (blimp) floating over. It was red with 'Holden' written alongside, and flashy lights underneath.
I didn't know there was a new airship flying around. What's the deal with it? When did it arrive?

I grew up a couple cities over from Carson California. I use to see the Goodyear blimp fly over my house a lot in the 70's and 80's. They still used light bulbs for the electric display on the sides of it. It was a cool site.

The tournement is at Grand Blanc(say Blank) near FNT.

There is a new airship in town... well that depends what town in Australia you are in, On August 3rd it was reported on an IFR (I Follow Roads) flight from Melbourne to Sydney roughly along the route of the Hume Highway.
It is sponsored by General Motors-Holden and will be seen around the country over the next 12 months.
If I wasn't working Friday I would head down the Hume and meet it!!
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

Me too. I used to watch the Goodyear blimp (much bigger and faster) turn inside the Fuji blimp's track over Palos Verdes and blow the Fuji half way to Catalina. I think the Goodyear was based in Dominguez Hills; it was visible from the Harbor Freeway.

Most of these smaller blimps are owned and operated by The Lightship Group LLC. www.lightships.com
