Can anyone tell me if this service has started.

I gather it was due to start sometime in July but on the website it only shows the timetable from Oct 06.

Also, did they ever decide what metal they were using on the route. All kinds of rumors running around?

I was amazed to find out that they have actually recruited their cabin crew & have been paying them a basic salary for the last 6 months (not bad for doing nothing!!!); an acquaintance of mine left BMED to join them. They must have some money.........

I'd expect them to use the B763, following in the footsteps of FlyGlobespan.

Will be good to see them finally in the sky, they seem to have good prospects if they actually shifted themselves and start up  Smile

Virgin America already have around 100 staff if not more on full pay.
A lot more goes on behind the scenes than you might think

Edit - http://www.flywho.com/ is allowing bookings for October '06 onwards

Well aware of the numbers of staff needed having been involved with 2 start ups in the UK & in both cases cabin crew were recruited once launch had been finalised i.e. at the last minute. This joint must have money to burn as the going rate for junior cabin crew is around the £9-10k p.a. mark before any flying allowances. Do the sums for 30 odd cabin crew currently employed (since Feb) by FlyWho & it is obvious that they are throwing money away at an unproductive (for the moment) workforce.
