Apparently, Airbus engineers visited both airports last month and mentioned the A380 would visit GRU and GIG for compatibility tests. Has anyone in Brazil heard anything about this? I never considered GIG or GRU as a possible A380 route, at least not for the next 5 - 10 years... even though AF has been getting good loads and yields on CDG-GIG using the 744 and LH is doing well also on FRA-GRU, both carriers have busier routes and won't receive their A380s anytime soon...

Okay, confirmed by Infraero staff, it's missing the day, but should be November or December (date to be confirmed). And some good news, it will visit EZE also !
Probably will be:
FRA - GRU - EZE - GIG - FRA
Aircraft should be MSN 07.
At GIG , T1 on gate 11 or T2 on gate 45
At GRU, probably remote.
No info on EZE
Felipe
New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !

Cool. My source is usually accurate but sometimes they give out some dodgy info Always good to check with others. Too bad I don't live in Rio anymore, and I doubt the A380 will come to SEA anytime soon (if ever)...
