OK, I have a question. I'm trying to get my Mom booked SFO-MAD via LHR and I'm finding I can save US$300 by booking it as 2 separate trips rather than as a single trip. What concerns me is what ramifications this might have on her travels. I'm assuming her luggage won't be able to be checked through and she will have to claim her luggage and re-check in (both the luggage and herself) at LHR, but are there any other hidden issues I'm missing with this? I have to admit I'm surprised the pricing turned out this way, but for $300 I'm willing to do it if I'm not going to cause her any issues on her trip.
