According to AFP, based on information transmitted by the ONU mission (Monuc) in the Congo Democratic Republic, 17 persons were killed today Aug 3th in the crash of a private Congolese company plane, near Bukavu, in the eastern part of the Congo Democratic Republic.

A plane has crashed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, after clipping a mountainside, killing 17 people.
A United Nations spokeswoman said the Russian-built An-28 had been attempting to land at Bukavu in bad weather.
The plane then crashed into a forest in flames, 15km (nine miles) short of the airport runway.
