Hello,

Would anyone have some information about this DC-10-30 registered N54649 Air France operated a very short time around 1993, please?

What routes did it fly on?

Apparently the aircraft operated CDG-NRT-NOU (Nouméa) starting 1 November 1993.

WOW! I never realized that Air France had the DC-10. I'm sorry I can't answer any of your questions.

I wonder if the DC-10 was leased from the other French airline AOM, till Airbus delivered to Air France some of their A340-300s that they ordered?

Hi

An Air France pilot told me that this DC-10-30 operated the CDG-MIA route just after the merger between AF and UTA

MSN 46854, this DC10 first flew on Feb 2 1975 for delivery to UTA as F-BTDF. Whilst it was leased by UTA from an American lessor, (which changed around 1990) it kept its US reg, including the time it was with Air France from the the merger date of 29 Dec 1992 to return to the lessor in Oct 1994. It was sold to AOM in Nov 1994.

It now flies for AOM as F-GTDF, bringing its old reg into a more modern French series.

UTA flew the DC10 to the Pacific and Africa and in the 22 months it was with Air France, I dare say it continuedto fly its old routes.

Alain,
I read that one of the 10's was used on PPT-NRT flights in 1993 and/ or 1994.

Hello TriStar500!

Nice to hear you!

Thank you for the pice of information. Apparently these DC-10s were mainly used on leisure routes (NOU, PPT, MIA, ...)

Another pice of information: Only the N54649 was ever painted in Air France colors. The other 4 very likely remained in UTA full c/s (don't even know if they had an AF sticker or so).

Best regards,

This Air France DC-10 ended its life with Air France on the pacific route and was based in Papeete doing the PPT-AKL-NOU NOU-NRT NRT-NOU NOU-AKL-PPT run.
It indeed flew to Miami and also to Chicago ORD.

Happy Flying,

AF Cabin Crew.
