Sterling Check-In Question

Hello all!

I just booked a flight on Sterling for the day my passport will expire - yes, I checked that date before  Wink - and I'd like to book another flight on the same airline for a later date; if else I'll be taking the train home.

The Sterling website says you need a valid passport for checking in, however I won't be spending 60 Euros on a passport just to take a 60 Euro flight. Since Germans have national ID cards that are just as valid for ID purposes as passports, I'd like to know if this ID card is also valid for check-in at CPH.

Their website hasn't been that useful of a resource, so I'll appreciate all info I can get.

Thanks for your attention!

Sorry to bump this, but does nobody have any contact info fo Sterling? I'm not that keen on calling a reservations phone number in a foreign country with a particularly German question, which is about the only option I've found so far.

Where are you flying to/from ? If it's in the Schengen Area, your German ID should be acceptible, otherwise not.

Sorry for not being able to answer your question, but...

Don't you think you would have any need for a passport after the flight in the next 5 years or so?

THF to CPH outbound (the one on the last day my passport will be valid), inbound would probably end up being CPH to FRA. I'll probably have to call one of their res centres anyway.

Unfortunately, I don't see my funds permitting for travel to any destination I can't go to with my German ID in that time. In any case, the date is a bit too close for applying for a passport... bit of a spontaneous idea of mine.

Thanks for your time!

Hopefully, I finally entered the right terms into Google and their e-mail address is sterling@sterling.dk, a.k.a. why-didn't-I-just-try-that-out-on-my-own.

Should anyone like to know if that address worked, don't hesitate to send an IM.
