I need some help from people who know about Orient Thai, I have been looking at flights to HKT with Orient Thai, I was hoping to fly one of their 747 Classics, on the booking form it comes up with 757/MD80 as equipment. Can anyone clarify if they do still fly the 747's on this route? If so which flight?
Also if given the choice of flying Air Asia or Orient Thai which would you choose and why?

Last year I travelled on 747-100 between BKK and Chiang Mai. Was a short flight i.e. 1:10. I think we got a drink and a biscuit. The flight was full and the service was pretty good.

From Bangkok to Phuket it's almost always an MD-80 lately. 747s only in the high season domestic, and now mainly to Hong Kong, Korea and other further destinations.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

I'm faced with the same problem, I am thinking about flying BKK-HKT-BKK in December. Currently I'm flying AirAsia one way, and Orient Thai on the return
MD83's seem to be used currently on a 4 daily rotation into HKT on OX
