For anyone in the YHM, YYZ, YXU area who are interested. N707JT which is John Travolta's 1960's Qantas 707, is parked at YHM. It arrived EARLY yesterday (08/07) morning.

I'll be back later with some pics.

Is there a film festival in Tee Town or something? Although who needs an excuse to visit Toronto. Eh?

Yes! Senator Obama. We are ready to believe again.

The Film Festival doesn't start until Sept. 7th.
But the Greek Fest "Taste of the Danforth" is this weekend, maybe he's here for that?  Smile
Anytime is a good time to visit T-dot.

Not A.net quality because of the heat haze. Hopefully it stays around alittle bit longer so I can go back and get a decent shot.

EDIT: A.net layout was cutting off plane, so made it a link instead.

Yeah, right next to it. If you actually go into the front jetport parking lot, the plane is RIGHT next to the fence, and easily visible. But too close for photos.

Swissy, you're not from the YHM area, are you?

Actually, I rather think the opposite Jay!!!! That's a very beautiful shot..

The heat haze is minimal --> Unless you can see something I can't, which is a good probability  Smile

Great shot!

The 707 has been moved to another position - still at the JETPORT site.
Now a perfect morning shot - 40 mm lens required from the parking lot !

Good luck !

Thanks, maybe i'll give the editing more effort (instead of the 30 second sharpening job), and then try uploading it.

Yup, that is where it was postitioned when I took my photo. The only problem was that the fence holes are way too small for my 17-40mm lens, which has a diameter of 77mm. Sad

To be honest, I have absolutely no clue. I believe I was up there that day, but I don't remember who I talked to. Was it a younger (I would've been about 15 or 16 then) and fairly chubby? If so... than it could've been me! hehehe.

I guess not. The guy I was talking to was probably more like 22 and his mom was an AC employee.

I fixed up the previous shot, and uploaded it, however I know that despite this one being nice, it'd get rejected for baddark or something along those lines.  Smile

For those photographers still wanting a shot of the 707, it will probably still be at YHM tomorrow (Sunday). You need to get there before noon for the sun, and because of its closeness to the fence you need a moderately wide angle lens. About a 35mm focal length for a 35mm camera.

It could land at Downsview in Toronto? I did not think a runway there would be long enough or open to a private flight.
