Air Canada Jazz and the Toronto Port Authority still can't get along apparently:

From Article (CNW):

HALIFAX, Aug. 8 /CNW/ - Air Canada Jazz has been forced to delay plans to
reinstate scheduled service on August 28, 2006, at the Toronto City Centre
Airport due to the intransigent actions of the Toronto Port Authority (TPA).
The TPA has refused to approve the sublease between Jazz and Stolport
Corporation, thereby preventing Jazz from securing facilities from which to
operate. The TPA has refused to allow Jazz to reinstate service at the airport
unless it agrees to a secret commercially restrictive commercial carrier
operating agreement (CCOA). Jazz regrets having to take this action and the
inconvenience caused to its customers.

secret CCOA? This is getting murkier all the time...

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Ahh, that's too bad.
It would be nice to see YTZ get a bit of action once in a while.

If you ever get the chance to fly into Toronto using YTZ, it's really the most beautiful way to see the city.

I generally support the TPA and its airport expansion plans but this smacks of favouritism towards Porter and/or discrimination against Jazz.

I'd like to see both Jazz and Porter prosper and grow at YTZ. A healthy YTZ is good for the local economy and the environment since downtown Toronto folks (such as me) would be travelling to YYZ less and hence using the highways less with more YTZ flight options.

Odd that there was no revised start date. I guess it depends on negoatiations betw Jazz and the TPA.

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.
