Who's complaining? Everybody is happy with this for a long time. who cares about a 'national' carrier anyway.

quote: ''Kenya Airways has maintained its position as the fastest growing airline, boasting of the youngest fleet in the region.

The carrier has acquired a fleet of seven new Boeings, has signed several agreements with major airlines, and is in the process made millions of shillings. ''

Surprises me too. However, a "national" carrier or at least carriers without too much foreign interference is one thing that is cared too much about by many, including the kings of capitalism that refuse to increase foreign ownership rules.

KL's investment into KQ is the best thing that happened to the airline... but I guess the subject of national pride and nationalism never cedes to exist wherever one is.

kq is best managed as a private enterprise even though part of it is foreign owned. of course feelings of nationalism will be taken into account by ministers claiming " an african airline should be run by africans." KQ's profile b/f the merger did not look bright.
