Hi,

I just noticed on our airport tv channel that there is a TAP Air Portugal charterflight from Funchal today (Sunday). TAP also had charterflights to CUR last year in the summer. I asked here in the forum if TAP would have charterflights to CUR as well this year but nobody replied. Now I see TAP has a charterflight again today so is TAP doing charterflights to CUR again this year? Below is the flight information for today's flight:

ARR: TP4133 FNC 15:45LT
DEP: TP4133 FNC 16:40LT

Anyone knows more about these flights? CV990, do you know more? For how long will these flights be operated? Does this flight operate every sunday because last year the flight was operated on fridays.

I now see the flight shows up on the TAP website but it doesn't show the aircraft type. I assume it's an A313 or could it be the A332?

And this means....?

I searched the database for the A332 in FNC and couldn't find a photo so I assume the A332 doesn't fly to South America yet.

EDIT: I see the TP A332 is already used on flights to SSA  Smile

Also, does anyone have a decent flight tracking website where I can track international flights? All tracking sites I found are only focussed on U.S. flights and the websites I did find with international flights, can't find the flights I was looking for, mainly international charter flights.

You mean it doesn't fly out of FNC yet?

Hi PPVRA, you are right that's why I edited my post. Now I'm waiting on someone to tell me about the charterflights to CUR. I will also call the TP office here in CUR to say what they can tell me Big grin

Hey A388,

Frustrating place is this A.net when there's talk about the Antilles. People here only seem to be interested when there's talk about SXM, but not about CUR, AUA and BON.

I think the flight will be an A310, it was the last few years. There was also the A340 charters one year (that was like 3/4 years ago). Good luck catching it on tour camera.  Smile

Hey GoAibusGo,

What's up. It's been a long time since I've seen you here. You must be bussy with the summer season  Smile

You are right, SXM gets much more attention here compared to AUA, BON and CUR even though there have been some nice discussions here about BON/CUR and CO and KL's new winter schedule. I hope I will have my camera back this coming week so I can take aircraft photos next weekend and I really hope that TP will arrive here next sunday. I'm never lucky when it comes down to charterflights to CUR. I always end up seeing nothing when I go to the airport while the same day a week earlier the same charterflight arrived here. So I really hope the TP charter flights are always on sundays or at least in the weekends because during the week I can't go to the airport because of work. If we would get the TP A343 that would be even better! Last year we got the A313 from FNC and I have a feeling it will be the same this. I flew on TP's A343 to CUR in 1996 but that flight was nonstop from LIS and it was a scheduled flight that continued to CCS. Over the past years TP has mainly used the A313 to CCS and CUR (charterflights). Hopefully luck is on my side next week, I really hope so....

Thanks.

No I am on this this side every single day (almost). but I mostly read the topics and some times I participate in them.

About the A343 I think I saw one on a charter flight in 2003 or 2004. The A313 I've seen every year now doing charter flights. Good old TAP doing the necessary charters for the large Portuguese community living in Curacao.

True. I think today's flight is the first flight but why does TP start these charterflights so late (mid-August) and are these flights operating on fixed days (in this case every sunday)? How will the crew rest be determined, will the crew stay in CUR for a entire week before taking the next flight back to Portugal? It sounds a bit long to stay here in CUR for a entire week...?

They will probably position to CCS and take over there or position from there on a regular TP flight CCS-LIS.

Still no Portuguese A.netter to help you out  confused   crossfingers

Thanks. I enjoy photography as well. I haven't been to the airport in a while now. We need more air traffic to/from CUR. Who knows TP will change the charterflights back to regular scheduled flights because the demand is here looking at the growing Portuguese population on the island. It might make more sense if TP combines one of the CCS flights with CUR yearround but demand from CUR has to pick up first...

And yes, I'm still waiting for our Portuguese members/friends here to update us on the TP CUR flights Big grin

You are absolutely right. I've flown TP's A313 on my CUR-CCS-LIS-OPO-AMS flight and it was a nice experience. Legroom was good, the cabin crew was very friendly and the flight itself was great  Smile

If you know more about the CUR charter flights please let me know.

I just saw the TP charterflight fly over our house. It was an A313 heading to CCS when looking at its flight path. The flight departed at 17:20LT (about 40 minutes late).

LPLAspotter, please let me know if you have more info on these CUR charter flights. Thank youvery much.

I had to go to the airport to pick up my ticket for Sunday so I asked about your flight. They stated that equipment isn't decided on charter flights until the last minute. It could be EuroAtlantic (767), White(A310), SATA (A310) or any of the TAP widebodies. Wish I could give you more info but they (the tap people) were not in the working mood today (fiestas all over the island - everyone is hungover).

Hi LPLAspotter,

I also forgot to ask you if you can get information on the departure times from FNC. It will be useful for me if I know if the flights arrive every sunday and if it departs at the same time every week. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Thank you very much for your help. I called the TAP office here who informed me that there is only one flight to CUR. This would mean that yesterday's flight was the only flight to CUR. Even so, I really hope there will be more flights to CUR, so if you know more please let me know. It sounds strange that an airline only has one flight to a certain destination or is TP known to do this (only 1 flight)?
