EK DXB-NGO...how Is It Going?

I know some people get annoyed with these types of threads but I am really curious.

EK started this in June with a 777-200ER and will upgrade in the fall to an A340-500 (because of the first class seating). I know that they are hauling a lot of cargo as well.

But how are the loads and does it really need to be upgraded to an A340-500?

Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!

The OL from my office just took the flight last Friday and will be back early next week so I will ask her how the loads were. I have also talked with a few others who have taken the flight, so I will try to get some 'unofficial' info for you as soon as I can.

I know I have enjoyed flying into NGO at night and seeing the beautiful bird sitting there on the tarmac. I hope it works out for them because I look forward to taking this flight the next time I need to get to Europe.

Ooh that is new. The original release was that it would go from 777-200 to A345...now we get a 777-300ER great.

So the demand must be high enough for such a large plane. Do they have a contract from someone like Toyota?

Oh you should take AY to Europe from NGO. So much more options to fly to in Europe! And a much faster route. Wink

Actually AY has a contract to take Toyota staff from NGO to LED via HEL and back... Wink

Toyota has a factory or something near LED nowadays.

Does anybody know how AY is doing with the route? At least here in Finland they have been giving some special deals for the route, like 499 euros return from HEL.

I never knew this. Is there a huge difference between the 777-200ER and 777-300ER First? Why is the A345 First different?

I wonder what is driving the EK flights in NGO. If not Toyota...then what? Can't be the ultimate rich flying first to hang out in Dubai. The Chubu region is not that wealthy. Fairly middle to upper-middle class area.

I believe there's a lot of business between the two countries. Don't forget most if not all countries in Africa import Japanese cars from Japan via Dubai. Not that it'd warrant a daily flight but just an example.
