It was there also as of 08/13/2006 when I came back home from SEA-TAC and taxied past there.

It was built in 1988 for Delta after the merger.

Even from a far off view it is the dominant feature at SLC along with the 300' ATC tower:

Actually, this scene doesn't exist. Ship 6708 is in the Song livery at the moment. The flag, however, is still there. It was made possible by $20,000 in donations by SLC Delta employees after 9/11.

757 A checks and HOV(basically a flight control lube)
764 service checks (same as an A check)
MD-90 service checks and HOV
738 service check
Engine changes, sheetmetal repairs, fuel tank mtc., etc.

It is identical to the SLC hangar and they do similar work, I'm not sure which checks on which aircraft though.

One thing about both hangars is that most of the checks get done at night and with the exception of the HOV can be done at the gate. This may explain why you haven't seen any aircraft in the CVG hangar.
