Just heard on BBC and confirmed on GMB website that their workers are to strike twice over one of the business travel weekends of the year, the August bank holiday.

I had planned to travel YYZ-LHR Aug27, arriving Aug28, then transfer to STN for a Ryanair flight from STN-TMP (Finland). With the chaos at LHR lately, I opted out of that journey. Good thing I did, now there are 2 reasons to avoid London. STN is always busy, it will be utter chaos on Bank Holiday. I remember spending one night there, in Feb2004, even at that time of year one could hardly get a seat to sleep on overnight, and people camped out everywhere. Must say, though, at least there was decent catering available. Boots Pharmacy BTW has a decent selection of fresh sandwiches, and staff were super pleasant. Amazing the small things you appreciated when stuck overnight at an airport! Oh, and an Italian coffee place also was excellent.
Cheers,
