Horizon Air Serves Which NW Microbrews?

I have 2 "firsts" to add to my record-book in a couple weeks:

1. I'm taking my first ever Horizon Air (Frontier JetExpress) flight soon (DEN-OKC-DEN).

2. My first CRJ-700 experience.

I hear Horizon serves free Northwest microbrews and wine from the local wineries on their flights. I'm especially curious to know which microbrews they serve...but I can't seem to locate any of the brand names on their website or any other place.

Anybody know, or have had good experiences with Horizon's brews? (I'd like to add a 3rd "first" for myself: a good NW microbrew!)

Thanks ahead of time for any thoughts/suggestions...

Good enough for me.

Interesting you mention this. This same thought crossed my mind about five minutes after I posted this topic. An F9 reservations agent said that these flights use Horizon a/c and crews...they are just painted in Frontier colors...I forgot to ask her whether the crews are under F9 service guidelines or Horizon's.

If nobody knows on this forum, I'll place another call to F9 tomorrow to find out.

That is a good question. I would imagine they do have the NW brews, as it is all Horizon service, but I could be wrong. Regardless of the beer, service on QX is top-notch, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Sound more like a wet lease than code-share.
But a reservation agent might not know the difference between the two. Big grin

Frontier JetExpress is a Frontier product and follows Frontier's service guidelines. The aircraft and crews belong to Horizon, but it is a Frontier service- just like SkyWest's service for Delta Connection and United Express belong to those respective carriers (minus the aircraft and crews).

Horizon has some of the most comfortable CRJ-700's in the business and Frontier is fortunate to have them as their JetExpress partner. Big grin

However, I have heard that for their own services, they do serve complimentary alcohol. Very nice!  Smile

I hope you enjoy your experience!

We are lucky to have Horizon Air here on the west coast. The best regional airline in the US for sure. There F/A are always nice also. The best service.

I don't think that QX serves northwest microbrews on the flights they run for F9. F9 dictates inflight service for their FJExpress. No matter what the name is on the outside of the plane, you are still going to get outstanding crews and a great flight.

On Horizon, they change the microbrew offering every month. I have sampled brews from Washington, Oregon, Montana and perhaps Idaho. The beer usually represents the season it is. So they offer darker stronger beer during the Fall and Winter and lighter beer during the Spring and Summer. The wine is also really good. Sometimes I have wine instead of microbrew if I don't like the style of beer they are pouring that day.

I'm leavin on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again....

I was just on a QX flight from HLN-SEA and the microbrew was Widmer India Pale Ale out of Portland. Very good!

I can confirm, unfortunately I'm afraid that we do not offer the same inflight service on the F9X operation as we do in our mainline. F9 provides the F&B service, all we obligate are planes and flight crews.

The technical term is 'contract flying', not codeshare or wet lease for everyone's info.  Smile

I second that. QX is the best regional airline in the US hands down. The main reason for that is that they look at themselves as a major airline and operate that way. Instead of trying to copy service and act like a stepchild of their larger brothers, they have created something unique and different. I wish them all the best.
