LH CRJ700 - Door From Cabin To Cargo Hold?

Was browsing through the database and noticed the door at the rear of the cabin on the LH CRJ700. Is there deliberately access to the cargo hold in case of fire or need to rummage through bags in flight? Or is the rear galley hidden behind the door, like on AC Jazz' CRJ705? I thought the rear galley was behind the last row of seats on the cabin's left hand side facing forward...

Anyone who knows?

I can't speak specificly about LH's planes, I'll have to look up the two pictured aircraft at work tonight.

In our fleet, there is an access panel in the lav that can be removed to gain access to the aft cargo hold. It wouldn't be easy to get through, but it could be done.

Its a toilet isn't it?

I've not flown on the -700, but LH -200s have this door and they are toilets - small and very cramped.

The Dash 8 also has an access hatch to the cargo hold from the rear of the cabin I think.

I checked the IPC at work tonight for the s/n of the pictured aircraft. The door opens aft into a small compartment, but not directly into the aft cargo. On the back wall of this small compartment is an access panel that can be opened to gain access to the cargo.

It depends on the configuration. In the pictured configuration, the lav is on the right side of the airplane aisle (to your left as you look at the picture). The -700s in our fleet have a door in the same place, but it is the door to the toilet.

Thanks, now I know. As I said, I can only speak from the experience on LH's -200s that I have flown on.

When looking closely at the picture on the right-hand side, I see small red dots inside the cmpt, and they look like the retainers that hold carts and ATLAS boxes in place... does LH have even more galley stuff next to the sideway-mounted galley behind the last row on the a/c left-hand side?
