Well, my holiday/vacation is now coming to an end. While away, I connected thru CLT on my way to MIA. Before anyone has kittens and says this is a trip report; the gist of this thread are two historical boo boos aviation wise.

  • By the US gates in the CLT terminal there was a cool display case with the airport's history. Everything was cool until I spotted a black and white photo showing an Eastern Electra in the background. The airport 1962. The Eastern L-188 shown had the hockey stick logo! hissyfit  The hockey stick appeared at it's earliest in 1964! in '62 you still had the Golden Falcoln.

  • Flash forward to Graceland. Three tour guides said in their speaches:This airplane is a Convair 880 flown by Delta since 1958!
Please correct me if I'm wrong but DL first jet flights were DC-8's which took to the skies in 1959!Lucy, you got some splainin to do!

Do you get this upset every time a minor error is displayed? Because if you do, youre headed for a stroke.
