:55 to go from seat 56K on a United 747-400 (UA 916) to a Lufthansa 737-300 ( LH 4170) departing for LYS.
I'm going to beg and plead for a seat closer to the front when I check in tomorrow...seat map is showing totally full in coach right now.
I wonder if my bag will make the connection...hmm...
I flew UA 916 back in '98, but it was a 777 then. I'm glad it's a 744 this time around...the plane doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the T7, but to me, there's something special about crossing the Atlantic on a 747. I can't wait.
Next trip 6/12 - 6/15: MSY-SEA on AS, SEA-LAX on VX, LAX-N.O on Amtrak

Don't worry about it, FRA is great for short connection.
Just make sure when you check you luggage that the agent mark it HOT and you won't have any problem. Just don't take your time, there can be a lot of walk there.
If you're afraid about the aircraft, ask the f/a to be moved to the front just before landings. They usually help with that.

Flew #916 to FRA two years ago (I was on the originating flight here in SEA, a 752) and had about an hour at IAD. It was my first flight on a 744, and the reg. was N174UA, hence my user name on a-net. Perhaps you'll have the same plane?!
Even if your bags miss the flight to LYS, it's within 500 miles or so, so it should get there later that day, especially since #916 arrives in FRA early in the day.
Have a great flight! Brings back great memories. 744 on takeoff is PHENOMENAL...enjoy! I'll be on US 782/2 from SEA-PHL-FCO on Saturday. Too bad UA doesn't fly to FCO anymore...

You should respect Murphy's law of connecting.
The probability of making a short connection is inverselyrnproportional to the length of time between the next flight to yourrndestination and your planned connection. Or the longer the wait for thernnext flight the greater the probability of miss connection. Conversely, if there is another flight within an hour you'll always make it.
Additionally, if you run to get to a gate you jinx your chances.
SO DON"T SWEAT IT YOU'LL MAKE IT.....
The last two flights I ran to I missed. So I stopped running even on very short conx times, the results were unbelievable. The last two times the crew hadn't shown up for the flight yet as they were also connecting in from somewhere with bad weather.
Some people don't get it. Business is about making MONEY!

Funny you should start this topic. Four days ago, I made a connection in 12 minutes (no kidding!) from Terminal C to Terminal E in Frankfurt. Arrived on AA from DFW, left on OK to PRG. Did not have to do immigration, tough, and only had a carry-on.

45 minutes is the listed minimum connection time at FRA so shouldnt be a problem, once I did a connection there in 35 mins and that was parking on one of the furthest remote stands and being bussed to the terminal.

I came back from Athens last week to Manchester via Munich. The arrival time was due to be 14:35 and departure was 15:15 , with boarding on the ticket as 14:35 for the Muc-Man flight. I thought it would be very touch and go. The plane push back on time at Athens but was delayed on departue due to traffic. We landed at Muc at 14:25 but was delayed 5 mins due to an A/C on stand. We parked on stand , i rush off the aircraft (we was on G gates) went through a mini passport control, rush to the gate which was actually 5 gates away and as I got there i was 3 from last to board the bus to the aircraft. Boarded the plane 15 mins later the plane went. And guess what. Yes my 4 suitcases arrived at Manchester and it was first off (being last on i suppose)
I flew with Lufthansa - I have flown with them many times. I have to give them credit for that type of service, and also the crew the planes and food.
Well done LUFTHANSA !!!! (heheheh and thats from a Brit heheheh)
Munich is a wonderful airport too. Well done you Germans.

Should really be no problem at all to connect in FRA. There have been quite a few connections I have made from DL flights arriving at Terminal D and departing on LH from Terminal A, in as few as 30 minutes, with bags arriving with me in HAM. Of course, if immigration is full (which I have yet to have happen to me at FRA), 0:55 is ample enough. Plus, if you can't run, there's always the train, even if you go from B/C to A .
