I flew yesterday BRI / MUC / GVA with my family. We checked 6 bags. When we asked for our boarding pass at the transit desk in Munich, I noticed that the man scanned all the bagage tags on his computer. However in Geneva my bag was missing. I went to the lost bag counter and filled all the information, but what worries me is that they didn't find the bag and told me 'it's coming with the next flight' as they usually do. And this morning the status on mylostbag.com is still TRACING CONTINUES. PLEASE CHECK BACK LATER.

Is it normal it takes so much time to find it?

best regards

I lost my bag from HKG to GVA via HEL.

It took them a whole evening before figuring out where the bag is. My guess is that it is still in Munich, so check back later in the morning... also call the airlines' baggage office directly

Don't worry, 99% of all lost bags do not disappear forever. Some weeks ago my complete baggage (2 suitcases) got lost somewhere between ARN-FRA-CGN. I went to LH's lost-and-found-office and for two days they didn't know where the bags were. On the third day they called and said that the bags arrived. The weird thing is that they still didn't have the bags in their computer system till then and they didn't know where they had gotten lost and how they returned; they just came in on some FRA-CGN flight, no one picked them up and so they had a look at them and recognized them as my missing bags - 3 days later. Strange thing, but glad that everything turned out good.

Sometimes bags get sent on without someone telling anyone, for the sake of getting them there. Compound the delays in them getting through customs and the like, and it can take a while.
