Hi everyone!
I assume that the 777's are going to be bought by QR but sold to other airliners since they are high in demand. If they are not viewed as suitable to Qatar Airways, then at least QR will make some money leasing them to other companies or perhaps selling them for a profit.
One thing for certain, Qatar is a loyal Airbus customer. No matter how close QR gets to a Boeing deal, it seems to spring back to where it always wanted: Airbus jets.
I would love to see the 777's in Qatar's new color scheme. The A340-600's already look great in that livery. Having ridden four A346 (VS) trip in the past month, I am falling in love with these birds.
If the terminal mentioned is the new First/Business Class terminal at DOH, then it should open next month. The airport is already expanded and at least you can extra air to breath, and maybe find an empty seat

Rob, Mohammed, thanks for the info.
My guess is that the A350XWB forced QR to re-think its plans. They will either get a very good compensation paket from Airbus for the two years delay, including some cheap A330s and A340s, so that they would be better off with that than with T7s, or they need a new deal with Boeing that includes 787s, which I don't hope.
However, Airbus has still to get the approval for the A350XWB, before that they probably won't have anything firm with QR.
No more narrow-bodies for QR? So they are really going the same way EK and EY do. Let's see if the A306 works on the TXL route.
