Hi just wondering when the new terminal in Doha will be open for use?

Also which aircrafts in QR's fleet has the new AVOD system

I am due to fly them from bangkok - Doha in December. What is my chances of getting the new AVOD?

Would my chances be better if I flew from Singapore?

All of the A330-300's do, as well as the new A340's.

Most if not all of the A330-200's also have AVOD on board.

BKK has more of a chance of having AVOD, BKK is due to be a mix of A330-300s and 200's  Smile

I'm affriad you will not be using it in December, it is due to open in 2009  Smile

Have a great flight on QR, I always seem to.

If you have anymore QR questions I will be happy to help  Smile

Will they take the 20 T7s or rather EK's 20 A346s?

I'll re-phrase, any question other than that  Wink

I have no clue what QR's future fleet will consist of; if the 77W's went ahead, then I would expect QR to also get 787's  Smile

QR's CEO has stated the airline will not take any more single aisle planes, other than VIP aircraft  Smile

Personaly I would love to see A350WXB's, A340's, A330's and A380's in the future fleet, eventualy ending up with A350WXB's and A380's  Smile

Hi everyone!

I assume that the 777's are going to be bought by QR but sold to other airliners since they are high in demand. If they are not viewed as suitable to Qatar Airways, then at least QR will make some money leasing them to other companies or perhaps selling them for a profit.

One thing for certain, Qatar is a loyal Airbus customer. No matter how close QR gets to a Boeing deal, it seems to spring back to where it always wanted: Airbus jets.

I would love to see the 777's in Qatar's new color scheme. The A340-600's already look great in that livery. Having ridden four A346 (VS) trip in the past month, I am falling in love with these birds.

If the terminal mentioned is the new First/Business Class terminal at DOH, then it should open next month. The airport is already expanded and at least you can extra air to breath, and maybe find an empty seat  Wink

Bye

Rob, Mohammed, thanks for the info.

My guess is that the A350XWB forced QR to re-think its plans. They will either get a very good compensation paket from Airbus for the two years delay, including some cheap A330s and A340s, so that they would be better off with that than with T7s, or they need a new deal with Boeing that includes 787s, which I don't hope.

However, Airbus has still to get the approval for the A350XWB, before that they probably won't have anything firm with QR.

No more narrow-bodies for QR? So they are really going the same way EK and EY do. Let's see if the A306 works on the TXL route.

Rob, how many 332s and 333s does QR operate and to where and how many on order.

And what is their order backlog, i know about the 2 388, UFO 20 777s, and the reactions and emotions involving the 350XWB.
Have i missed out anything.

Karan
