One possibility might be that it is at an aircraft "junkyard". There are some businesses that buy old planes for the purpose of taking them apart piece by piece and selling the pieces to airlines as spares. We have a business here at GSO airport that has cannibalized an A300 and DC-10. They sat around in pieces that looked a look like the 727 in the picture.

The colors are different because they were most likely repainted, as they are when planes are retired. The 3 stripe's match up exactly with AA's ones (size wize), and if you look very, very closely you can see American imprinted on the fuselage in silver.
It took me a while to figure it out.
