Will the Spirit planes that are usually sitting around FLL in various locations be moved for this storm or will they sit it out by terminal 4? Or will they be flown to placeds like Tampa and Sarasota maybe?

Quoting Nkops (Reply 2): The MD80's may stay in FLL.... but who knows!!
Maybe with their fleet transition nearly complete they should put the MD80s in harms way and collect the insurance!
Experience is what you get when what you thought would work out didn't!

As tempting as that may well be I'm sure their hull insurance has some stipulation somewhere about them being required to take reasonable precautions to protect the asset(s). Kinda hard to get around that one...

"About the only way to look at it, just a pity you are not POTUS KFLLCFII, seems as if we would all be better off."

Here I am!!!!
Glad they didn't move the planes here to ACY like last year... we are getting worse weather than FLL... heavy t-storms and tornado watch...
Anyway, the majority of the planes are going to MCO, I seriously do not know about the 80's since we have so few pilots left to fly them... maybe someone in FLL will be able to tell us if they are there

I doubt Ernesto's going to do much damage at FLL, if any. Right now, the aircraft are in more danger in one of our daily summer thunderstorms.

I'm glad they're in MCO, but what if Ernesto hits MCO? I would think TPA or JAX would be better suited.
