Not too bad looking, although I'd rather see this hybrid become their new livery:

It's true employees voted for it and this one won by about 60 votes. The runner up was the retro red which was my first choice. I liked them both so I'm happy this one was the winner.

I think it's really sharp. As was mentioned, it looks like the FedEx livery although I also notice a resemblance to Atlas Air as well...okay, maybe not.

its not great, but its not aweful. Ill have to wait to finally see one at BWI. Im sure, as is in most cases, the new colors will look different in person.

Quoting FI642 (Reply 7): World would be better to stay with an all white fleet, rather than go to this!
"Hey! What's that mothballed MD-11 doing over there?"
"It's not mothballed...it belongs to World Airways."
I think THAT is what's wrong with an all-white fleet. I like the new livery and hope someone--anyone--clicks a picture when one of them comes through Bangor, Maine on a troop charter...as they do several times each week.

Who designed it? I think it looks good if you ask me. Looks like a TG livery.

Quoting Jogales (Reply 11): Looks like a recolored UPS livery to me...
Agreed, but it beats the current livery hands down.

Will DL be doing the paint job for World or did DL just paint the retro job for World because it was an retired DL MD. I sort of like the all white but this is a very nice improvement.

I dont see what the point is for an ACMI carrier to really spend much money designing logo's nor painting planes in anything more than the most basic paint job.
The plain white worked fine for World in my opinion and allowed for the incorporation of customer logo's as needed or total removal of any signage whatsoever easily if required.

1. they have to be painted eventually anyways
2. they found that employee moral was boosted by the retro paint job.
3. I belive the design was done in house by salaried employees
4. We've had 13 consecutive profitable quarters and last year was our most profitable yet so we have plenty to cover the minimal cost.
5. We are trying to expand our customer base beyond military flying more memorable look may help generate some business and build our corporate identity.

I guess this style is the current trend...but does everybody have to jump on the bandwagon? Where are the non-conformers? :P
25 Wedgetail737: It kind of resembles Aeromexico's new livery except with a red stripe rather than a blue one.
26 Wjcandee: This is probably why the front of the a/c will still be white. All excellent reasons. A very nice list. Thanks.
