American Airlines is seeking support from the community to obtain the rights to fly DFW-PEK starting 3/25/2007. Interesting website (there is also a link on their main website).

I went to Shanghai and Beijing in May 2006. I flew DFW-ORD-PVG, then SHA-PEK for the second stop of my trip. On the way back, the story was different, I had to connect via KIX to get to DFW. I wish I could have flown a non-stop back home from PEK. I had to pay for an hotel to stay overnight at KIX because the sole JAL flight from PEK-KIX was late on the day and there is no way you could catch the KIX-DFW on time. Very inconvenient connection.
