I am planning on a trip down to SXM either the first week of next April or sometime in the Summer. It would only be a one day trip ( arrive in the morning and leave in the afternoon). What are the busiest days (in terms of arrivals)? Are the arrivals always over the beach and departures always toward the mountains? How many flights a day arrive? I want to know everything you know.

Saturdays, hands down.

Nearly always.

This is a HUGE download, because it's a worldwide timetable, but it's useful for planning what arrives and departs SXM when.

I went for a day earlier in August from SJU and found that Thursday is the best day in terms of heavies, you get:

3x American 757-200
1 Continental 737-700
1 US Airways 757-200
1 Delta 757-200
1 Air France A340-300
1 Corsair 747-400
1 KLM 747-400

Plus you see many Dash-8's from Liat and Caribbean Sun/Star as well as tons of Winair aircraft.

Now of course that's missing United, Air Transat, and Air Canada but you will also miss the Corsair 747-400 on a Saturday.
