Is UA looking for more lift from Gojet rather than Trans-States, and in turn replacing TSA with the 70 seaters??

had a t.s.a. pilot tell me that he was going to start flying on the AA side out of stl now that sat is pulling down the failed sat mini what ever you want to call it hub.....where im at we are getting a go jet here in oct...something that never has been here except for a divert when den is socked in....have never flown on them but have heard some nasty stuff from the "non union"pilots at skywest..... Smile

TSA pilots raised a big stink over this, and rightfully so. They're paying these CRJ700 pilots minimal wages, and were hiring the pilots at relatively low times as well.

The union doesn't hire the pilots. There are plenty of Eastern and Continental scabs still flying. Hell, some of the later even got back into ALPA. It is however, a mark you carry for the duration of your careers, and something someone will know wherever you go.

Does Gojets actually do a good job? Are their FA's professional enough to handle a F class service? I know that Mesa's are not. I flew on them from ORD-ATL awhile back and their FA's sat and talked about "boys" the whole time - I was pissed.

That's exactly correct. The union has no say, one way or the other whether a pilot is eligible for work with any airline. They can be forced from their jobs for not paying dues once hired, but nobody but the hiring manager at the airline decides who does and does not get hired. And that is as it should be.

Worked for too many airlines to list. Banktupcy after bankruptcy after bankruptcy.

Flew GoJet for the first time last week, STL-ORD. It wasn't too bad, somewhere above YV and below OO... Granted, it was a short flight but the flight deck was doing a good job keeping the passengers informed and the FAs weren't bad at all.
