Can anyone help?

I apologize if such information has appeared before -- I did a search and did not find anything. I'm particularly looking for 1976 flight schedules from SAN.

Thanks---

That would be awesome. Is there anything you could give me or do you just have one to reference?

I'm particularly interested in flights from SAN and MIA (where you could fly non-stop -- obviously full timetables would be ideal).

Thanks!

That's the only OAG I've got. You might also be interested in this excellent website by a fellow a.netter:

There are literally hundreds of nonstop flights out of MIA. If you like, I can look up nonstops to a few specific cities for you. SAN is a much easier task. Here's what I've got for SAN as of July 1, 1976:

BUR 8x PSA 727-200

ORD 1x AA D10; 1x UA DC-10; 2x AA 727-100; 1x AA 707, 1x UA DC8-10/20/30/40/50

LAX 4x DL L10; 3x AA D10; 1x WA 720; 5x AA 727-100; 2x RW (Hughes Airwest) DC9-31/32; 2x UA 727-100; 4x WA 727-200; 2x NA (National Airlines) 727-200; 1x DL 727-200; 1x UA DC-8-61/63; 2x NA D10; 1x AA 707; 2x UA DC8-10/20/30/40/50; 17x (depending on day of week) PSA 727-200; 1x PSA Electra

Thanks for the info -- very helpful.

Basically -- I'm trying to answer the question: How long would it have taken someone to get from SAN-MIA and MIA-SAN in 1976? And what times of day would they be able to do it?

Obviously there are no direct flights -- so someone would have to stop -- likely in LAX or DFW, although maybe there are others?

Can you form a perspective on that from the data you have?

I'll just concentrate on the nonstop-connecting city-nonstop flights. It was possible in those days to take a 3 stopper to the connecting city, and then another 3 or 4 stopper to the destination city!

On the SAN-MIA leg, you could leave SAN at these times:

7:30a on AA 727-100 to DFW, change to BN (Braniff) 727-200 and arrive in MIA at 5:55p

7:45a on NA (National Airlines) D10 to LAX, then change to another NA D10 to MIA, arriving at 4:30p

7:45a on UA 727-100 to ORD, then change to a NW 727-200 to MIA, arriving at 7:45p

10:30a on UA DC8-10/20/30/40/50 to ORD, then change to an EA 727-100 to MIA, arrive at 8:51p

11:05a on AA 727-100 to LAX, then to a NA D10 to MIA, arriving at 8:30p

11:30a on a WA 720 to LAX, then to a NA D10 to MIA, arriving at 8:30p

12:15p on a DL 727-100 to ATL, then to an EA 727-100 to MIA, arriving at 9:49pm

12:15p on a DL 727-100 to ATL, then to an DL 727-200 to MIA, arriving at 9:50pm

1:20p on a UA D10 to ORD, then to an EA 727-100 to MIA, arriving at 12:38a

9:40p on an AA D10 to LAX, then to a NA D10 to MIA arriving at 7:20a

9:50p on an AA 727-100 to LAX, then to a NA D10 to MIA arriving at 7:20a

10:10p on an WA 720 to LAX, then to a NA D10 to MIA arriving at 7:20a

I'll get you MIA-SAN a little later today.

Perfect. Thank you so much!

I'm very curious to see if you could make it back from MIA to SAN overnight (or mostly overnight) -- even though it is west-bound.

And now for MIA-SAN. Once again, I'll just concentrate on the nonstop-connecting city-nonstop flights, with the exception of this 1 thru-flight that is listed:

NA Flight #11, D10, leave MIA at 5:15p, stops at IAH and LAX before arriving at SAN at 9:40pm

Connections:

NW D10, leave MIA 7:00a, connect to AA D10 at ORD and arrive at SAN 10:59a

DL 727-200, leave MIA 9:00a, connect at ORD to UA DC8-10/20/30/40/50 and arrive at SAN 3:05p

NA D10, leave MIA 9:15a, connect at LAX to NA 727-200 and arrive at SAN at 12:35p

BN 727-200, leave MIA at 10:00a, connect to AA 707 at DFW and arrive at SAN at 2:32p

BN 727-200, leave MIA at 1:10p, connect to AA 707 at DFW and arrive at SAN at 6:42p

EA 727-100, leave MIA at 1:55p, connect to UA 727-100 at ORD and arrive at SAN at 8:30p

NA D10, leave MIA at 2:00p, connect to another NA D10 at LAX and arrive at SAN at 5:20p

EA 727-100, leave MIA at 6:30p, connect to AA 707 at DFW and arrive at SAN at 9:57p

BN 727-200, leave MIA at 6:35p, connect to AA 707 at DFW and arrive at SAN at 9:57p

NA D10, leave MIA at 10:00p, connect to DL L10 at LAX and arrive at SAN at 3:11a

That's it. Hope you found the info you needed!

Thank you -- much appreciated!

You can find pretty much anything when you ask on A.net!
