CI will inaugurate scheduled all-cargo service from IAH on September 30. The new Taipei-Houston Boeing 747-400F freighter service will fly twice a week.
The new flight will depart TPE every Thursday and Saturday at 1:20 a.m., and arrive in IAH at 8:15 a.m. the same day. The return flight will depart IAH the same day at 10:35 a.m., and arrive in TPE at 4:55 p.m. the following day.

“As Houston’s first scheduled Asian air cargo flight, this is a significant event,” said Rick Vacar, director of the Houston Airport System.
They really need to teach geography to the folks at HAS. A couple of months ago they said Qatar was an African airline, and now the statement above. Rick needs to be reminded that SV flies scheduled 747F's 2x weekly from IAH to Jeddah via JFK and Ostend/Brussels, and Saudi Arabia is in Asia.

Any word how their pax flights are doing to IAH? They fly via SEA, and I know there was talk of axing the SEA-IAH leg.

It’s true, there’s talk that the IAH leg is not doing too well. But like all unofficial sources, that talk should be taken with a grain of salt.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s certainly room for improvement; it’s not a non-stop flight, it departs pretty late in the evening, and IIRC CI does not service the mainland, which some may consider a misnomer, so there’s definitely some obstacles.

Sweet...looks like IAH just keeps adding new carriers (seemingly always when I am away). DFW better watch their backs, as it looks as if the boys at HAS are 'hard selling' IAH as a alternative to DFW in terms of cargo. So let's see, IAH will seen an increase in SV Cargo flights, Cargoitalia just started service and now CI Cargo, not a bad summer for IAH cargo ops. Yeah, I know, DFW still smokes IAH in terms of the shear number of carriers but IAH is gaining some respect, at long last
Speaking of Cargoitalia.....where are the pics? C'mon Nate, Phil, Kevin, Kent and all of the shutterbugs at the IAH Spotters Club? You guys are really slacking off. Do I really need to come back there ?
