That's going to be a lot of capacity this winter between ORD and FRA. LH is going to run 2 daily ORD-FRA again this winter (one A346 and one A343) after running only 1 last year. The ORD-FRA market can definitely handle it though.

UA needs those seats to FRA to feed the codeshares to the smaller cities in Europe, particularly since passengers will want to bypass LHR if that is not their final destination because of the security hassles.

AA has no feed beyond Germany on OW partner. Compare to their LHR service and the solution becomes clearer. AA has decent service to Germany DFW-FRA (777) FRA-ORD (763). For USA carriers, I think only DL and UA have more.
