Its widely expected G4 will announce their new PIE base on Wednesday so I think either
There is no new airline being announced but a new G4 RFD-PIE route
or
RFD will not be in the first batch of G4 routes at PIE since I doubt RFD would announce two new services for two new airlines on the same day but on different days to ensure maximum publicity

There are rumors about jetBlue. There were two jetBlue charters in to RFD in the last few days. It's just a rumor, but it is possible. I would love to see it, and I think jetBlue can really get people to come to RFD for both Rockford and Chicago too.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

I'm sure everyone wishes RFD would get B6. But I agree with Humberside on this one. Allegiant is expected to announce PIE
on Weds, Sept. 13. And RFD Director has hinted at PIE for quite some time now, so I guarantee RFD will be part of the first batch of flights to PIE. B6 did have charters this week. It was a great site to see a B6 A320 sitting at one of the gates. However, if and when B6 considers RFD (they have shown interest), I'm sure someone from jetblue would post a rumor about it during the week of an announcment, or GYY, or MKE, MSN, etc.

I smell the arrival of B6 at RFD.
Chicago (ORD/MDW) to New York City (LGA/EWR/JFK) is the second most-traveled city pair in the USA, but JetBlue doesn't serve it (yet). Normally, this makes it all the more appealing for B6 to serve the Chicago market... but they still don't after 6 1/2 years in business.
We all know that JetBlue would prefer to serve ORD, but there's the problem of gate space and capacity caps at ORD... unless an airline goes under or a new terminal is built, B6 can't get the 3-5 gates they need in Terminals 1/2/3, as UA and AA pump a lot of flights out of their gates. The only possibility I see is if DL moves to Terminal 2, sharing gates with SkyTeam partners CO and NW, but even then, given DL's intense distaste for B6, they'll probably just give their remaining gates on Concourse L awAAy to AA. Likewise, MDW is dominated by WN, and B6 avoids going head-to-head with WN whenever possible.
Normally, I would be cheerleading for B6 to serve GYY. But I just traveled through Chicago a few days ago, and it's such a construction mess in that area. The current Skyway and I-94 construction makes GYY less appealing than it can be.
This leaves RFD... an airport with great potential, and a decent metro area in its own right, too. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if B6 serves both RFD and GYY in the future so they can nibble from the bottom and the top of the Chicago area... sorta like what B6 already does at LGB and BUR to grab the Los Angeles market without serving LAX.

What about Festival Airlines? Maybe they are finally making the announcement of destinations. Isn't RFD supposed to be their base?

JB will not come to GYY..if they make the grave mistake of going to RFD they will leave very fast..like everyone else.

I agree, I just don't see JetBlue in RFD right now no matter how many people wish for it. I think it will be Festival Air, G4 to PIE or maybe DL to ATL (they just announced TTN-ATL/BOS so anything is possible)

Well it is Allegiant for PIE. As most of us expected. The Rockford Register Star reported today that Allegiant is going to announce a new destination, what could it be...hmm? Its nice that RFD will be one of the cities G4 is announcing its new PIE base with though.
