These are perfect times for business people and the connections they need. This area is really starting to grow to its potential, so to me, this isn't a huge surprise. I think it'll be a big success for DL.
I agree DSM and OMA also deserve the E70, and I bet they'll get it sooner than later

DL is adding a second EMB 170 on November 1 on the mid afternoon flight to and from ATL. The load factors have been in the high 80's but it is surprising that they are not adding at CID and MSN. It tells me that they are continuing to target AirTran in the Quad Cities

This is a GOOD thing....
If ATL is taking it up the wazoo again with ATC or other delays, the longer the crew RON, the less chance for a rest delay in the AM.
We have had EV crews come in on the 8pm flight, and stay until the 235pm departure the next day. The crew that came in on that arrival, goes out in the AM on the 6AM departure. This completely avoids crew rest issues. Yes, it is a long RON for the crews, but avoiding crew rest delays is priceless.
I am looking forward to working the E70, and I know many of our DL Elite flyers will enjoy having first class out of MLI.
Also, Delta in MLI should have Kiosks installed by the end of the month.

very impressive that MLI gets first class service on DL. DL has served this market a little shy of 3 years, compared to markets like MSN, CID or DSM who all have had DL service for a number of years but have never had first class service, only strictly coach on the connection carriers.

The CMH-SLC flight is still in the system because of CMH being the main MX center for the Wexford carriers, and the SLC-PSC is only there to give the plane some use while it is waiting for the flight back to CMH.
I agree. The 50 seat flights are almost always greater than 80-90 percent LF on the flights I fly.
DL mainline used to fly the 732 to ATL and CVG, but they were not performing well enought to justify sustained use of a mainline a/c. However, the 'bar' for justifying a mainline a/c was raised after the 733, 762, and 732 types were removed from the DL fleet. And the lost mainline flights were intially replaced with a DCI flight, but since then, we've lost 1x daily frequency to CVG and 1x daily frequency to ATL, or 2x depending on how you are keeping score.
