Hi everyone,
with all that delays I have lost track a little bit... so when is AF going to get their A380s? Plus, is there already any clue for where they are going to send them?

That's right. Air France was originally scheduled to receive the first A380 aircraft in the summer 2007 but with the six month delay in getting it ready for delivery, they (Air France) decided to postpone the delivery until the summer 2008 because it's the high season. There is no point for them in introducing a new big aircraft in the low season. Isn't JFK also on the list among the first destinations where the A380 will be introduced?

Just found this article about LH and the delivery of its first A380, guess that means that AF will get theirs later, too :
Quote:
FRANKFURT (AFX) - Deutsche Lufthansa AG is to take delivery of its first A380 superjumbo jet from European aircraft maker Airbus with several months' delay 'in summer 2008,' a company spokesman said.
Originally, Lufthansa had been scheduled to take delivery of the first of a total 15 A380 jets in autumn 2007.
But then an initial delay set back the delivery date to the beginning of 2008.
'We're in close negotiations with Airbus. But they haven't given us any more details on the delivery timetable so far,' the spokesman said.
Lufthansa would still be the first European airline to have an A380 in service, he added.

AF first two destinations are JFK and Montreal. Two cities with mulitple daily trip great for consolidation.
