Izmir's(ADB) new international terminal opened on September 9th. It will be managed by TAV the company who manages IST.

This is what the whole thing looks like to give you an idea...

Ankara (ESB)is getting a new domestic and international terminal also operated by the same company. It should be opening within the next month but I am not sure.

This is the Dalaman (DLM) Airport that opened recently. I think it is the most attractive of all three designs.

Thanks for the great photos,
I saw DLM recently, and I agree it looks great, very modern looking. I heard that it is the 3rd largest airport in Turkey now with 10mil pax capacity. Too bad, I was at DLM 4 times over the past 3 weeks, never saw more than 3 planes on the ground all terminals combined. All Turkish planes except one Transavia.
You build it, they will come?

18 gates is a lot for Ankara. I hope the build it and they will come theory will apply to ESB I hope such a beautiful modern airport won't sit there vacant.

Right now is closer to the end of the season maybe in June/July/early August there were more traffic at DLM. It's touristic so there will be a lot of passengers.

DLM looks stunning in all fairness! I wouldn't really call it an opening of 3 new airports though?

Maybe ADB will get more traffic now it has a new terminal? Anything new planned for next summer?

Wow Ankara's new Terminal looks great. Hopefully I'll fly there one day... But I've only flown to Antalya several times, yet.

There is one problem with airbus. Though their products are engineering marvels they lack passion, completely.

Where is the terminal in ESB located relative to the old, nightmarish terminal ?

Bodrum is getting a new terminal I think. The domestic terminal will be renovated in ADB.

All three airports do look great and confirm Turkey's role as a modern and important tourism and business destination.
The old Ankara terminal was not up -to- date with modern travel requirements.
Congratulations to the Turkish airport administration for these three great projetcs.

You should also add a new airport in Bodrum(BJV). Beginning of construction of airport terminal in Bodrum, is scheduled for 01 January 2007, and works to be executed in two years.

That is what BJV will look like. IMO I think it could be better it should be a larger terminal with both domestic and international under one roof with a better design.

I doubt that they will ever get 4 DC-10s and a 747 all at once there.
How about that double jetway to that 747?
Just kidding, it will be a huge improvement.

Yup.
Got bussed to the aircraft. Busses so packed that 2 ld folk collapsed. Ages to check in and ages to get through passport control.

If there were empty gates I would have been really mad.
I'm sorry that happend. I'm sure after they get over the initial adjustments it will be fine.

All these "terminals" not "airports" will create its own traffic. Look at the success SunExpress had with ADB. These new terminals will come as a great change to the travelers in Turkey.

Sorry for my lapse of judgement when I wrote the subject title...
I am aware it should say terminals.

 Yeah sure

Cant wait to move to the new terminal at Ankara... A significant change in the level of service will be possible which hopefully will attract new airlines to Ankara, Izmir and Dalaman...

just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there...
