Earlier today I started a thread based on the DOT's foinal approval of Frontier for LAX-SJD.

At that time, the DOT had not filed the decisions (or I couldn't find them) but now they have.

They have made finall all their tentative decvisions. So Frontier gets LAX-SJD,
Delta gets LAX-PVR and JetBlue gets JFK-CUN.

PVR will see a dramatic growth in traffic from the U.S. and Canada in the years to come. The Vallarta region is now second to Cancun in the country, in terms of tourism development and infrastructure. The only problem is the airport, which remains very small and inefficient. I foresee a paramount battle between Alaska and Delta for a larger share of tha market from the U.S. West Coast. Frontier will consolidate its strong position in the U.S. Midwest; you should come down and see how many " Whole different animals " are parked at the apron of PVR in the winter days, any given day !!!

No doubt, only 3 jetways is certainly not much. Of course pax can be bussed, but under Mexico's burning sun, that might not really be a preferrable option.

Yep. I was just in PVR this past April and it was a madhouse. Granted it was around Easter, but the facility is tiny and there are just so many people. The baggage claim is a nightmare as well.
