I flew to USA by LH last week via FRA and during my stop I counted at least 12 American planes in one hour -other than LH planes flying to USA (Delta, Continental, American Airlines, United, US Airways).

So which european cities have the most flights from USA.
I guess first one is LHR, 2nd one is FRA..

CDG is pretty big - DL have a massive presence there I would think, through the alliance with AF.

I would say:

LHR
FRA
CDG
AMS
LGW
MUC
MAN

What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???

Many Asian airlines also exercise their 5th Freedom rights from Europe to the US.

SQ: FRA-JFK
AI: FRA-ORD, FRA-LAX, CDG-EWR, LHR-JFK
PK: MAN-IAH

to name just a few.

Yes, LHR by a long way, then CDG and FRA are actually pretty close seconds depending on day/week.

I'm sure LHR is number one. CDG sees 43 daily flights to the USA (summer season) :
BOS : 2 AF, 1 AA
JFK : 5 AF, 1 DL, 2 AA
EWR : 1 AF, 2 CO, 1 AI
PHL : 1 AF, 1 US
IAD : 3 AF, 1 UA
CVG : 1 AF, DL
ORD : 1 AF, 1 UA, 1 AA
DTW : 1 AF, 1 NW
ATL : 1 AF, 3 DL
MIA : 1 AF, 1 AA
IAH : 2 AF, 1 CO
DFW : 1 AA
SFO : 1 AF

How many for FRA ?
LAX : 3 AF, 1 TN

JFK - 2 Daily Iberia, 1 Daily Delta, 3x Weekly Air Comet.

ATL - 1 Daily Delta.
ORD - 1 Daily Iberia
MIA - 2 Daily Iberia, 1 Daily American, 4xweekly (?) Air Madrid (Oct.)

Manchester has:-

JFK 1 x daily BA & 1 x daily DL 3 x weekly PK
PHL 1 x daily US
ORD 1 x daily AA 1 x daily BD 2 x weekly PK
LAS 2 x weekly LAS
MCO 6 x weekly VS (10 x weekly in summer)
BOS 1 x daily AA
EWR 2 x daily CO
ATL 1 x daily DL
IAH 1 x weekly PK

suprisingly on a par with Madrid! (Not bad for a regional airport! 4th busiest in the UK)

I dont think there's much of a challenge in this one. Heathrow takes it first hand and leaves the competition a while behind.

No contest its LHR at the moment. I say at the moment because AMS and FRA are getting very close because LHR does not have the infastructure to cope with any more flights. The access to the airports main terminals is by a two lane tunnel which at the best of times is congested. LHR is trying to upgrade all the time but unfortunatley personally I think its a loosing battle.

MUC (this ist staralliance territory)
(all flights daily if not marked otherwise)

JFK - LH (X/6)
EWR - LH/Privatair
ATL - DL
RSW - LT (1 weekly)
PHL - US
ORD - LH, UA
IAD - LH, UA
BOS - LH
LAX - LH
SFO - LH
CLT - LH
MIA - LH(X/7)

That puts MUC above MAD and MAN.

Continental 62/63 is a continuing flight to IAH. Not usually with the same plane but it's a continuing flight.

Continental is supposed to start IAH-MAD when the 787's arrive. It has been a route that has been considered for quite a while (along with IAH-FRA), but the U.S. transit visa issue has knocked out part of the market CO was hoping to tap into pre 9/11 (Latin America to Spain). Not to mention CO's current lack of widebodies and their concentration on EWR.

Er have you Forgotten Terminal 5 at LHR.

Once that goes operational LHR will have a lot more traffic Space available.

As Terminal 4 will loose BA along withTerminal 1 so the bulk of the central area congestion will vanish in the best part of a week once T-5 is fully operational.

Also the new Terminal will have its own Rail and Tube / Underground Station as well along with direct acces from the M25 so LHR will be able to expand in one Giant Leap!
