(Hope this wasn't posted already)

Just an FYI, that LH is brining in the new 3-class A340-600 into ORD starting today on LH433. Arrives 19:10 and departs at 21:40 from B17 in terminal 1. This aircraft will be on LH433 for the next month and a half then will return on LH431 in early December for the remainder of the winter schedule.

Do LH not use Terminal 5 and the M gates?

LH uses terminal 5 for arrivals and then taxi the aircraft to terminal 1 for departures, allowing better connections for incoming UA pax.

On an aside, does anyone know when (or even if) LH is going to start deploying a B744 on FRA-BLR?

Nice, this will be the 2nd A346 coming to ORD (along with occasional IB A346)...

Brilliant - thanks for the information. So business travellers from December onwards will get the new J product, good I shall try and book all my travel on LH from then onwards and hope and pray that Y is sold out (and J has a few empty seats) Big grin!

Anyone care to start a pool on how long until they put it in the mud somewhere on airport property? To my knowledge, IB is yet to have a problem, but it is a tight squeeze in places.

I would love to see what that aircraft looks like inside. I have flown on the 2 class on and it was a little crampt (sp?) in the back of it.

If someone could get pics that would be great.

It was AMAZING inside! Luckily enough I happened to be in Chicago yesterday and I went on board. Nothing like the new plane smell! The whole aircraft was so bright and modern. Honestly, my heart was racing because it just looked that cool inside. The downstairs lavatories have a very futuristic look and Y actually looked very roomy and comfortable (probably because the cabin was empty, but still very impressive). The pitch honestly did not look bad at all. The only thing the aircraft needs is the PTVs in Y. I'll try to post some pictures later today.

(parentheses mine)

If AF ever upgrades their A332 service to BLR to a 772, it will be fun to watch that creaky luggage carousel handle two streams of baggage from a 772 and a 744 Big grin seeing as how AF arrives about 15 mins after LH, unless the folks at BLR hold off on offloading AF until all LH bags are cleared!

Now they DO have a second carousel which appears to be under perpetual maintenance. What gives?

Looked great landing and taxiing around. I would like to check out the views from the cameras they use for taxiing if I ever got the chance (No INTL emblem on my badge)  Sad

My sound like a crazy question, but does anyone know the route the A346 must take at ORD? Landing Runway, Taxiways, etc.

Everytime I see the IB 340-600 and yesterday the LH 340-600 they always seem to be landing on 9R everytime. Then they can very easily turn and go to the INTL terminal on M5, M6, or M7 with out getting routed to tricky taxiways or around the terminals.

As far as LH going from INTL to B Concourse I am always in the middle of a big bank of planes and never get the chance to see the move.

Almost all international arrivals land on 9R at ORD,nothing unusual there.
Its a straight taxi to the international hardstand.I have seen the Iberia A346
take several routes to the international terminal,so I dont think it will be
to much of a problem.

Hey Nimish....J class may be great on the LH 744's but the poor Y class pax are in for a nasty surprise....the LH 744 Yclass is not fit for human beings....the worst legroom in the industry.....

But I loved the Y class on their 346....  smile

Really? Which major airline (with the exception of TG) provides more more than 32" of seat pitch in regular Y? LH Y seat pitch is no worse that most airlines is infact better than BA's super tight 31" on WT.

I thought LH A346 was on 2-class? Even with the new LH BIZ class.

The first 11 are 2-class and were delivered with the new business seat. LH then ordered 7 more in a 3-class configuration, which just started being delivered this month. ORD is the first route to get this brand new 3-class type.
