Does anyone know how many Airbus A380s have made it in to the air and how many have been built so far?, sorry if it has been discussed before.

Quoting AirworldA320 (Thread starter): Does anyone know how many Airbus A380s have made it in to the air and how many have been built so far?
IIRC, six have flown, the three RR and first GP7200 aircraft (two out of these are undergoing route proving at the moment carrying pax) and the two undergoing interior fitting in Hamburg (destined for SQ)(also RR equipped)
How may have been made? Well, that depends on what you mean by built: standing on the flight line, having its major parts completely fitted, or ready for flight.
I haven't been to TLS, but IIRC, there are some more aircraft, the first one for EK for example, standing on the flight line. I would guess that most of these airframes are undergoing rewiring at the moment.

No problem As I said, there is six aircraft that has flown, while the rest is being put together/rewired and so on.
I'd guess that the next few birds that will go to Hamburg for interior fitting would be for SQ, and then the first few for EK, QF, and China Southern Airlines. But I have no clue on when that happens

A snippet from yesterdays news is that the first QF bird is currently undergoing final assembly - the lead time for this one is amazing - I remember a press conferance early in the year when it was mentioned that the first metal for the first frieghter was cut last year - 2 years before the plane will fly!
