Just got an email at work that says that the 747LCF test pilots are shooting for an 8am arrival at BFI Saturday 9/16 with a 7:45ish flyby at PAE prior.

Will try to follow up with more info as I have a chance.

God, I sure hope so! It must be one of the first things they do to it at Boeing. The question is, what livery will it see?

I'm sure they'll take it up to PAE shortly.

I doubt it. I would imagine it will start flight testing right away, paint will come later.

Paint will come sooner than you think. Boeing doesn't want people looking up to the sky, seeing the 747LCF, and asking themselves "what the hell is that green thing?" Any other "new" plane or model is usually in some full paint scheme, even if it's an in house scheme and not that of the launch customer (see 777LR, for example). I know this plane is different than previous that Boeing has put to the skys, but the 747LCF will have paint on it by the end of September, I predict.

Speaking of Livery, since it will be operated by Evergreen, will it be in a their current livery, a new or special Evergreen livery, or Dreamliner livery with small "Operated by Evergreen" titles? I am very curious to see.

I'm not really sure where you got that info from as its status claims it arrived 445 days ago on June 26,2005. I don't think that the 744 had even been pulled in to the hangar for modifacions yet.

I believe the top of the page is the flight history of the same Boeing flight number (BOE876) from BFI to TPE. If you look at the bottom, it should show a Sep 16, 2006 01:00am GMT departure from TPE to BFI. Since that flight has not left TPE yet, I think FlightAware only shows the status of the most recent route of any flight using the same flight number.

Told ya so. It would be stupid not to assuming everything they need to do to the exterior (inspections, etc.) is complete.

You told me? Sure bra. The situation is fluid and is changing by the day.

My info is coming from my sources at Boeing, the same sources for my recent 787 article. You'll find it on the cover of the current issue of Airlines magazine.

A bunch of us are meeting at BFI in the AM if anyone wants to come out.

Yes, I did. See reply #7. And I don't have my sources? I knew about this yesterday but was asked by my source not to post any specifics. Get over yourself, dude. You might think you're in the know...

Boeing isn't keeping this stuff a secret for anyone. So I am not sure what you mean by that, but you have my attention. So tell us, what colors will it be in  Smile

Also, people on the forum want to know when it will be flying from BFI to PAE, so now is your chance to contribute.

Or do you want me to post it so that later you can tell me you already knew but your 'sources' told you to keep it on the DL.

It's likely to be in the dreamliner colors with small "Operated By Evergreen" titles.

There was quite a crowd at the north end of BFI this morning to welcome her to Seattle. She came floating in about 8:05 looking surprisingly graceful in the air and landed to a round of applause from the onlookers. There was a small jet shadowing her just to the east of the field which I am sure held at least one Boeing photographer. Quite a few other folks had cameras in hand, I'd venture to say that we'll see some photos posted here shortly. My impression was that she looks quite a bit better in person than in photos - it helps that the plane is predominantly one color now instead of gray/geen/white as seen in earlier shots.

Look, I didn't want to tell anybody -- it's all really hush-hush -- but a large photo of myself is going on the tail. I think they wanted to honor couch potatoes like myself is the reasoning (those Americans who bear the shape of this plane). Boeing asked me to keep it a secret until the big reveal, but I couldn't help it! I hope I didn't steal your scoop

LOL - that was a lot! Even Col. Sanders couldn't have finished all that. Sorry you missed the arrival of the LCF, but it's going to be around the area plenty in the future. I'm sure you'll have a chance to see it up close and personal. There were a few other a.nuts out there this morning, I think I saw Steve.

26 Aeroguy: Yeah definitely seemed like a good crowd this morning. I was at the southeast end, over on Airport Way South with a nice angle looking almost straight
27 Post contains images DEVILFISH: Why, thank you guys. But Marvel and Boeing might take exception to that.
