I have noticed several topics over the past few months concerning jetBlue's service and the need for RIC pax to use them more. However, I have flown them twice to Boston and every flight was almost full. I travel quite frequently between RIC and BOS and I use to take a legacy carrier for miles of course. jetBlue's service is far more Superior. The direct TV is great. Once you use that, you'll never want to fly another airline. Their flight crew's are always eager to help in any situation and are very courteous. Plus their Chocolate chip cookies are the best! I don't know how their JFK service is doing. Does anyone have access to provide these details? Maybe things are getting better for them in RIC. Another plus are the RIC employees. Great group of people and very friendly. You all have a long time customer.

It's great to hear some praise about JetBlue (finally); after reading several other threads that bash JetBlue and its practices, it's refreshing to find someone who actually appreciates the product.

To answer your concerns, JetBlue is actually doing better at RIC than it has in the past. Over the summer they were running a 75% LF, but for some reason I think the September LF is going to be around the same if not higher. I think it has just taken awhile for the city to catch on, but from what I hear there has been a lot more advertising going on.

Again, you have a customer for life. I am planning on heading back to BOS in early November. Do you work at RIC? Any rumor of addtional service....possibly to FLL? Delta cut their service to FLL a few months ago. I know you guys are still expanding JFK and BOS. Keep me posted on how things are going and I will do the same.

I don't work for JetBlue  Smile But I'm a proud investor, so I do know the company quite well.

I really don't see FLL service coming online in the near future, if at all. FLL's gate space is at a prime and RIC still isn't that strong of a performer. If anything JetBlue will enhance its BOS and JFK offerings when/if RIC picks up, and then FLL may be added if gate space is found, not to mention they see demand for the route.

Great. That makes sense. I have noticed it is kind of crazy for you guys in FLL having to use two different concourses. Hopefully, you guys can expand there soon.

No word about expanding RIC. Loads have just started to pick up, so we need to see if they stay that way.

If you run a lot between RIC-BOS then I may run into you. Starting November there will be alot of E190 pairings that will start out of BOS and given the choice I run the 190 over the 320 so I may bump into you at some point.

I'm dying to try B6 out of RIC, but have not had the need to travel by air since they got here. May B6 find a permanent home here in Richmond... opening new routes and sending bigger aircraft!

Loads are def up in RIC I've tried to fly out of their a few times now and ended up getting bumped and having to take FL or US to get back.

I think they could advertise more and the current ads could be more effective. Their billboards, while attractive don't really get the point across and they need to be in more locations than just the path to the airport. Should be on the sides of city buses, on those banner kiosks in malls, etc.

I can't agree more with this comment about the advertising. The billboards are also very hard to read and you can barely make out the jetBlue name. They need to advertise on TV, especially during the heavily watched local and national news hours 5pm-7pm. I remember Air Tran did quite a lot when they first started service.

checkmark  The billboards have been resembling the new ad campaign (Dear Richmond,....Sincerely, jetBlue) which is not a bad campaign, but the older billboards (similar to the jetBlue AMEX card...bright yellow background with large blue font/type) definitely stands out more!

As far as advertising on TV...jetBlue used to run many more TV commercials. Now all I see is once in a blue moon even in NY - when the new campaign debuted, they had very large number of commercials on TV - I saw at least 2-3 a day plus radio commercials about 4-6 months ago for a 1-month period. I believe their ad budget is around $25 million this year, which is small if you think about it. It costs more to attract new customers than to retain current ones, however - they should definitely spend the bulk of their money in somewhat newer markets to attract more customers. jetBlue relies heavily on word of mouth, which is important, however they must advertise more in new markets!
