I was just browsing the AA timetables, and it looks like starting on Dec. 14th, one daily 757 will be sent from DFW-AUS as AA 1904 1345-1440, and turn around as AA 1684 1555-1655.

This is in addition to the 2 757s AA is sending on the SJC-AUS route.

Any new updates about new service/more new planes here in Austin?

Cheers,
Cameron

Edit: Changed Dec. 15th to Dec. 14th

Also, I noticed that AA will start using more 763s on DFW-LAX and ORD-LAX routes. Where are these coming from?

Cheers,
Cameron

Could this be seasonal?

The reason for the DFWAUS 757 is to balance out the SJCAUS routing. Other wise the 757's would do nothing but SJCAUS, this way they can circulate through the system by adding in the DFW routing.

I don't think so, because I searched it between Dec. and June, and it's there, throughout. I'd think that if it were seasonal, it would've been rotated out of AUS before summertime.

Ahh...makes sense.

AA 1810 gets in from SJC at 1510, and goes out to DFW as AA 1684 at 1555.

AA 1904 gets in from DFW at 1440, and goes out to SJC as AA 1023 at 1530.

Thanks!

Is there any chance that we could see more 757s in here? It sure would be nice to see some more bigger planes. Looks like it might be heading that way. What are the chances we see AUS-ORD as a 757?

Cheers,
Cameron

I definitely would not rule it out. I just flew DFW-AUS today, and talking with the FAs, and also from my own personal experience, on any given Monday, Friday or Sunday, this route is basically oversold all day long much of the time. Those MD80s go out packed on the AUS-DFW-AUS route.

Slim to none. The 757 is too big a plane for ORD, and AA prefers sending most connections over DFW rather than ORD, thus why DFW requires a bit more of a capabity bump.

I absolutely agree with that. I know back in the past couple of years, AA has been going for fleet consolidation here in AUS, and rather than introducing new fleet types, just go for more frequencies. I think they've basically gotten to the point where they can't add any more frequencies, and so they've gotta go bigger.
