AA flies it multiple times daily.

It's very nice to see this. I don't know how big the BOS-SJU market is, but I certainly hope that it's big enough to warrant service in the summer as well. I know JetBlue does very well with JFK-SJU during the summer, though Boston isn't New York obviously...

It's also nice to see JetBlue focus on asset utilization. SJU is a relatively low-utilized airport when it comes to gate usage (6 flights in the winter, 8 flights in the summer) compared to other airports where JetBlue flies 9 or 10 flights out of one gate. This will help spread costs out.

I always thought they had to connect these two cities one day and a great time to do it now when they should focus on connecting the dots more than new cities. Hopefully it gets bumpbed up to yearly.

Good to hear this! Great news for BOS. Hopefully some new routes from BOS will come in the future. Hope that this service does well so it can go year round.

Not all of us can be heroes, some of us can only stand on the sidewalk and clap as they go by.

I honestly didn't thin it would happen due to AA's huge presence on this route, but it is great that jetBlue's customers "demanded" this service from BOS! The flight times in both directions are great for the average vacationer and family!

Hopefully it can go year-round, but I doubt any time soon...unless the flights do really well early on. For those in BOS, keep in mind you can still fly BOS-JFK-SJU or BOS-MCO-SJU when the nonstop is not offered during the summer.

Does anyone know if it will be flown with the A320 or E190?

I cant imagine a 190 on this route, I could be wrong however. I know from my AA days that people travelling to the Caribbean, in general, like to checkin as much as they can.

jetBlue should add you to payroll!  Smile

You're probably right. I know the E190 has the range to do BOS-SJU but I think for capacity alone they would utilize the A320. What is this with people checking in so much on Caribbean flights? I hear the bags on all airlines are always overweight!

LOL, I'm trying to focus on school right now - but many tell me I am a "walking billboard for jetBlue"...hopefully David's reading this!  Smile

From the press release:
Service to San Juan will be operated with JetBlue's A320 fleet.

Smile i think the baggage and cargo alone we get on the SJU flights would show the need for an A320 vs the E190 which has a smaller hold.

As of right now, the BOS-SJU is only listed as seasonal service and will run until the spring only.
